To keep your appliances running smoothly and not in need of repair, we've compiled a list of helpful tips and tricks to help you keep your appliances in top shape:
Clean condenser coils every 6 months for efficient cooling.
Remove unpleasant odors from the fridge or freezer by cleaning the interior with a sponge and mild detergent. Add odor-absorbing products found in stores or online.
change water filters regularly.
During a power outage a refrigerator stays cold for about 8 hours and a freezer for 48 hours. Do not open the door unless absolutely necessary!
A full fridge is more efficient than a half-empty one, but do not overfill it either, obstructing the air flow.
During moving and storage, keep your refrigerator upright and keep the doors open
After moving a refrigerator, wait 24 hours before plugging it in. It is full of oil and can shift to one side. It will take time until everything settles down again. The motor should only be running when upright and not shifted on its head or to one side.
Do not store your refrigerator unplugged for extended periods of time. Some units require continuous use to ensure proper lubrication of the compressor. If possible, plug in the refrigerator once every few months and let it run for at least a couple of hours.
